Allium falcifolium - garden grown plant |

by Mark McDonough Allium falcifolium flowers slightly later than Allium platycaule. Here we see two heads of falcifolium in peak bloom (in a typical dark red-purple form), with the lighter pink flowers of A. platycaule starting to "go over". The leaves on these garden-grown plants of A. falcifolium are still in good shape at anthesis due to sufficient moisture this year (2001). [ back to gallery of cultivated A. platycaule & falcifolium
