Jeffersonia dubia
Visiting Marsha Russell's garden in Littleton, Massachusetts the
other day, I hit it just right and the N. Asian woodland treasure,
Jeffersonia dubia, was in full bloom.
The flower color varies a
little bit, mostly clear and lovely light blue hues. Altogether a
superior plant compared to it's American cousin, J. diphylla.
There are only two species in this small genus of woodland
plants, members of the valuable Berberidaceae family.
