Arisaema sikokianum x triphyllum
This hybrid between the Japanese Arisaema
and the eastern North American A. triphyllum is certainly
an interesting cross, appearing intermediate between the
two species in some respects but surprisingly less so in
In this rear view of the spathe, notice that there are 5
bold white stripes, the same number as in sikokianum.
In contrast, A. triphyllum typically has more stripes
which are usually connected at the top. In the
Arisaema gallery, check out photos showing rear
views of sikokianum and triphyllum for comparison.
This flower did not set seed.
