In this view one can compare the taller
parent, Japanese
A. sikokianum, with the hybrid A. sikokianum x triphyllum.
The open shape of the spathe and the white flash of color inside
the spathe show the sikokianum influence. The spadix lacks the
trademark club-shape of sikokianum and looks more like the
northeastern American native A. triphyllum. The hybrid is
a young seedling, perhaps accounting for the short stature.
