A closer view of the bright purple-blue "snapdragon"
flowers.

This "scoot" is rather invasive, as are many of the western
American species. The plant has escaped from a pot and
spread vigorously under a loose layer of mulch. In June
it makes a pretty display of violet-blue "snapdragons". The
plants dries and goes dormant after flowering.
