Iris aucheri
(two close-up views)

 A close-up view of the first bloom on Iris aucheri, with a bud waiting in the leaf axil, the
photo taken on April 14, 2002, approximately 2:00 PM in the afternoon. Only two hours
later I noticed that the bud (shown above) had opened and I snapped the photo of the
fresh bloom (shown below).  In the photograph below, the fine markings can be seen in
better detail.
