by Mark McDonough In this photo, the buds are beginning to open. The showy flowers are lightly scented and attract bees and other early pollinators.The photo was taken mid May. The two expanding flower buds near the top, just left of center, is Allium falcifolium, an allied species often confused with A. platycaule, but with a distinctly different look to the inflorescence.
