I feel fortunate having this seedling appear
in my garden years ago, originally deriving from a hybrids of
Allium senescens var. glaucum. It is among my first named hybrids,
and remains one of the best. It
grows with numerous even-height stems, roughly 14-16" tall, with
slightly domed hemispheres of
clear light pink flowers, with a haze of yellow anthers around each floral
cluster. Flowering for a
long period beginning mid August, this is among the most floriferous of
rhizomatous alliums for the
garden. It is available from Plant
Delights Nursery. This one send bees and butterflies into a frenzy!
