Allium karataviense 'Red Globe'  has leaves that are much longer and pointed at
the ends than typical karataviense forms, the latter have shorter, more rounded, oblong
leaves.  'Red Globe' emerges very early, 2-3 weeks sooner than regular karataviense
varieties, thus in full flower early May while other forms are just beginning to show buds.
